Private and group yoga classes are offered in your home, place of business, church, favorite park, art gallery, or anywhere you find inspiration  Please bring a mat. All other gear is provided.

Please preregister for the classes provided by Norton's Cancer Institute at 502-629-1234. Norton offers these classes at no cost to you. They are open to cancer survivor's, caregiver's, immediate family and anyone living with the survivor/caregiver. Appropriate for beginner's and individuals in or out of treatment. Classes are modified to fit YOUR needs.  You will need to sign a liability waiver for all classes.

Descriptions of Classes Offered

 Yoga Asanas (Postures) 
 
 No experience or flexibility is necessary to begin a yoga practice. Learn how the basic postures and breathing methods of a regular yoga practice develops flexibility, strength, awareness, balance and, good posture.   Gentle and restorative classes, chair, senior's, advanced beginner, intermediate, vinyasa and power flow classes are also available.
 
Yoga4Cancer Survivors 
 
Thoughtfully designed sequences of poses are created to meet the specific needs of each student to encourage healing and restoration of health and mobility. Yoga has proved to be effective at pain management by reducing inflammation and lubricating the joints. Yoga postures and breathing techniques encourage the flow of lymphatic fluid through the lymphatic system while simultaneously soothing and calming the nervous system. 
 
Yoga Nidra Deep Relaxation 
A form of guided relaxation, yoga nidra is a Sanskrit phrase that means “yogic sleep.” This nurturing and restorative practice moves you through the physical, energetic, emotional, mental, intuitive, and bliss layers of your being to transform deeply held tensions. All you have to do is lie down, listen, and receive.  Bring one or two blankets and a pillow.


Vinyasa
 Power Flow/Vinyasa is a flowing, dynamic sequence of postures. Synchronizing the breath with a continuous flow of postures increases flexibility, strength, and stamina, as it calms the mind and improves overall health.
