I began my journey on the path of yoga in 2002, out of curiosity. Having found an unexpected sanctuary on my yoga mat, I left a 23 year career as a financial advisor to become a teacher. I have been teaching as a career since 2006 and have taught in excess of 4,000 hours as of August 2017.
Spreading the news of the life-transforming qualities of yoga is my life mission. My classes are fun, playful, light-hearted. A safe place where every person regardless of body type, age, race, religion, sexual orientation, etc., should feel welcome and accepted. Together, we will gain strength, balance and flexibility of mind and body.
In our classes you will also find solace, friends, and laughter. You'll find NO JUDGMENT in our classes. I call them "our" classes because the students make the class by the energy, kindness, encouragement, and compassion shared with one another.
Registered with Yoga Alliance as an RYT200 and E-RYT 500, I graduated from Yoga East’s 200 hour teaching training program in 2006 and 500 hour in 2012. Laura Spaulding taught me most of what I know about yoga and is THE BEST teacher's teacher. www.yogaeast.org
My cancer training was with Tari Prinster of Yoga4Cancer (she's amazing!) and at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Tari's training classes were some of the best I've attended. Find Tari at www.y4c.com.
I've attended several "Yoga as Therapy" workshops (over 100 hours) with Doug Keller. I simply cannot imagine there is another anatomy teacher with a greater knowledge of the using yoga to heal and protect the body. Check out his articles on www.doyoga.com.
Elise Browning Miller led me deeper into the realm of working with back issues and scoliosis. Find her at www.embyoga.com. If you have scoliosis, go to one of her workshops. Soon!
Always a student first and foremost, I have studied with other world-renowned teachers such as David Swenson, Ramanand Patel, Betsey Downing, Francois Raulot, Karin O'Bannon, Desiree Rumbaugh, and, Darrin Rhodes. Have also trained at Kripalu.
